Peoples of all nations, from all religions and faiths at different times in life state e.g. “I was blessed with or by”, “I want to be blessed”, “That was or would be a great blessing”.

Equally true do we hear “god did not bless me with…”’; or “It was, or is, a curse”;

The absence of perceived blessing, often leads to futility, aggression, suicide and murder.

Sadly this has become an increasing phenomenon among all echelons of every society, irrespective of age, sex, financial security, family status or religion.

The individual has an unwanted empty vacuum that nothing seems to fill.

As part of our response, Nursing With A Difference has been taking a fresh look at the Biblical meaning of both Blessing and Revelation.

Beginning in Genesis from the first word of the 1st chapter we see how the Almighty Sovereign God revealed His perfect plan for the good of all mankind–male and female, by creating everything for wholeness in every aspect of life, before creating human beings.

From creation when God spoke the Word and there was light, we find, and have free access to the unquenchable light for the complete salvation of all who want and heed His Word. This He continues to do through His redeeming love and dealings with the peoples of every nation, for He has no desire that anyone should perish.

“O the Love that drew salvations plan, O the grace that brought it down to man”.

In the Gospels (good news) recorded by Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, we find fulfilment of God’s promise of redemption for all peoples for time and eternity, in the coming of the LORD Jesus Christ whose life and teachings reinforced God’s divine plan of salvation for all who would receive it.

Most people have some knowledge of the nine Beatitudes that He gave and taught in everyday practical ways, so that no one person need ever miss out on any blessing.

While Genesis is the book of beginnings, Mathew records the LORD Jesus Christ responding to Simon Peter’s answer “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” with a personal blessing:

“Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but
My Father who is in heaven.”

How often do we ask the Almighty God to reveal something to us personally?

Finally we turn to the last Book “The Revelation” we are privileged and rewarded to see the unveiling of the character and program of God that irrevocably affects every single human being.

Authenticity = validity, reality and truth.

The Revelation is the only book that specifically promises

those who read it.

Revelation 1:1-2

The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave Him to show His servants.. John who bore witness to the Word of God…all that he saw… and to the Testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:3                  God’s Promise

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it, for the time is near.”

Our responsibility is to make it possible for all Nurses and Midwives, our families and others to have opportunity to read and hear to ensure that each one can exercise his/her freedom of choice to keep.

If we treasure something we will surely keep it.

Revelation 14:13                  Blessing for Eternity

“Blessed are the dead who die in the LORD from now on… that they may rest from their labours, and their works follow them.”

Only as every Nurse, Midwife or other person reads and hears, can he/she know how to be prepared to die in the LORD. How else can one compare what God has made available in contrast to what the world offers? To choose what to keep and why, requires options.

Without the Revelation of Jesus Christ every one’s choice is made on hearsay instead of being rooted, grounded and founded, in the Word of God

Surely this is shaky ground on which to die, to pass into eternity and to face the judgement, when not found in the LORD?

NB a few short hours of thoughtful reading will help anyone and everyone find the gems referred to in The Revelation.

Inspired by reading Revelation, it is a natural leap forward to receive countless blessings found in Genesis to Revelation. Blessings unknown to you and to those desperately needing your tender loving care.

Revelation 16:15

“Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walks naked and they see his shame.”
How does this verse influence Nurses and Midwives understanding of personal, family and patient/client sexuality and the implications of choice in relation to life and death?

Revelation 19:9

“Blessed are those who are called (invited) to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb… These are the true sayings of God.”
Unless a Nurse, Midwife or anyone else reads The Revelation is there any guarantee he or she knows about, or can be prepared, for the marriage supper?

Revelation 20:6

“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
Without reading The Revelation how can anyone truly understand the things which are in relation to what has been and what is to come, including the 2nd Coming of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and Eternity?

Revelation 22:7

“Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
If The Revelation is not read, how can anyone know what the words and prophecy are, or their relevance to each and every person in the whole world, irrespective of each one’s national, culture, or religious heritage affiliation?

Revelation 22:1

“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree
of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”

The Revelation unfolds the commandments that have actually been given by the Almighty
Sovereign God, along with all the resources to enable us to fulfil each one.

How can Nurses and Midwives or anyone else know this without being able to verify true commandments and identify those made by man, or where the Devil and Satanic influences come into life?

The Revelation makes clear the end of Satan’s power over men, women and children.

BUT unless the Bible is taken in the hands, opened and read with a desire to know what it says, it means that by default, the individual chooses death rather than life and has no hope for Eternity:

It is nice to talk about heaven, but let’s never forget hell is also a reality. Where every person spends eternity is determined NOW. The CHOICE is ours.

To be part of the Rapture precludes the reality of facing the consequences of ill-conceived decisions at the final Judgement.

God in His mercy has given us in The Revelation, wonderful unveilings of what was, what is, and what is to come so that we can be fore-warned, fully prepared and ready waiting with great expectation for the Trumpet call, the Rapture or God’s call to Believers in His Word to rest from our labours in this world.

Revelation 22 ends with a warning and a glorious hope:

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things… I am the Root and Offspring of David, the Alpha and Omega, the Bright and Morning Star…”Come!” Let Him who hears say “Come!” and let him who thirsts come. And who ever desires, let him take of the water of life freely.

For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone
adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book.

And if anyone takes from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away
his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city and from the things that are written in
this Book, He who testifies to these things says “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen

The grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with each Nurse, Midwife and other visitors to our NWAD website as you read, and find for yourself, the many treasures for life and eternity revealed in every Blessing in The Revelation.
