Nursing With A Difference Radio Program
At long last Nursing With A Difference was able to launch our first Radio Program for Nurses on Saturday 3 May 2008 which is being broadcast at 6.30am, 10.30am, 3.30pm, 7.30pm and 11.30pm every Saturday for a full year i.e. to May 2009.
Commencing in the small rural district of Franklin in New Zealand this project has been a real joy, involving a lot of work, particularly in the difficult task of raising the substantial sum of $27,000.
This small beginning is seen as a forerunner to realizing our aspiration of many years to produce a weekly radio slot for Nurses in India. Until this becomes feasible, we are adding this program to our website as an encouragement to many Nurses
The program commences and concludes with the Nightingale bird song reminiscent of the nightingale bird singing in the Kasauli forests of North India as we did a round of patients in the sprawling TB Hospital units in the cool of the evening. This is followed by the Nurses of India singing our Theme Song "Standing in Your Presence"™, and the script.
The scripts are produced by Nurses in practice and it would be very much appreciated it if Nurses in as many countries as possible would make a contribution to encourage, inspire or edify in one way or another.
Our aim is to address some of the many difficulties Nurses confront with practical input that individual Nurses or a group of Nurses have found to be helpful in effectively dealing with such diverse situations so that burnout, depression and attrition may be reduced.
Every contribution in terms of script, suggestions and ideas will be given careful consideration for incorporation and every financial contribution will make it possible for all input to become a blessing for all Nurses and in particular those in the more remote areas of our nations.
Remember a Radio program to meet the diverse needs of Nurses needs to be constantly enriched. Your offering could well be the seed that grows into a huge fragrant mustard tree.
